Programmatic SEO, page by page.

Programmatic SEO means generating many pages from one template and a dataset, each answering a search someone actually makes. I've built a directory this way, about 200,000 indexed pages. These notes collect what holds up when the page count grows, sorted by the part of the work they cover.

Strategy

Which page types are worth generating, how to size the keyword pattern behind them, and when programmatic pages are the wrong answer.

Data

Where the dataset comes from, how to clean and enrich it, and what makes one page's data different from the next page's.

Templates

Page templates that give every page its own value: layout, generated copy, and the checks that keep thin pages out.

Indexing

Getting thousands of URLs crawled and indexed: sitemaps, canonicals, crawl budget, and pages Google decides not to keep.

Internal linking

Hubs, breadcrumbs, related pages and facets: how link structure spreads authority and helps crawlers find the long tail.

Measurement

Search Console at scale, page-level quality signals, and deciding which pages to improve, merge or delete.
